Gadhafi slept in Bediuon tents.
An occasional attempt to add credence to his claims of living modestly while Libyans lived on the edge of survival during most of his 42-year reign.
Gadhafi’s sons, however, did not bother to paint such humble illusions. CNN examines the “hedonism” of Hannibal – Gadhafi’s fourth son – and the torture of his children’s nanny by his wife, Aline Skaf.

The tide has turned in Libya.
As reported yesterday by CNN in a live blog, …”rebels fighting for control of Tripoli seized Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi’s vast compound. Celebratory gunfire was virtually nonstop as rebels streamed in and out of the compound, many leaving with weapons and ammunition seized from the complex.”
However, regime forces still retain control of the streets and Gadhafi himself released a message vowing “martyrdom or victory.” In spite of this, Al Jazeera reports that “…the head of Libya’s National Transitional Council (NTC) has announced the end of the Gaddafi era, and the UN chief calls for a smooth transition.”
Elated Libyans filled the streets, and crowded into Green Square in victory celebration. In Washington, D.C., citizens crowded Pennsylvania Avenue, celebrating in front of the White House, chanting, singing, thanking President Obama for this hard-won victory.
