  1. My theory about news – the more sensational the story and the more graphic the pictures the better the coverage. And they are not solely to blame because they are giving their audience what they want – lurid sensationalism. As with politicical figures whom we elect we get the media we deserve – and request.

    • This cannot be argued with – it is so true. Which says a lot about what we value as a culture. You said, in a post on your blog, something I absolutely agree with: “You can tell a lot about a culture by the way they treat their animals.” I’ve always felt this same way about the news a culture chooses to focus on or ignore.
